Class Descriptions
All Class levels are offered at both our Columbus & Granville studios.
Beginner Class for ages 4-6
Introduction to Irish Dance technique and basic soft shoe steps, focusing on coordination, balance and musicality. Incorporates fun dance games to improve dance skill and timing!
Beginner Class for ages 7 years and up
This class introduces dancers to the soft shoe jig and reel. Class also focuses on perfecting technique and introduces fun group dances.
Advanced Beginner
This class is suitable for students who have taken at least one year of Irish Dance classes and have perfected the reel and jig. More difficult soft shoe dances are introduced. Dancers also begin learning the treble jig and hornpipe, both hard shoe dances.
Novice
For students who have at least one year of hard shoe class and have mastered the treble jig and hornpipe and/or have danced at feiseanna and placed 1st in each of their advanced beginner dances.
Open Prizewinner
Students who have completed a minimum of one year of novice-level classes and/or have placed first in all soft and hard shoe dances at feiseanna.
Championship Level
Includes dancers at Preliminary and Open Championship Level.
Adult Classes
It’s never too late to be an Irish dancer! Set your goals, put on your shoes and let’s dance! Whether you want to dance recreationally, learn a few steps to help your dancing son/daughter or compete yourself, this is a great way to exercise, socialize and learn a new skill.
Dancers have an opportunity to learn hard shoe, soft shoe and team dances!
Tuition
Class enrollment is set on a semester basis. Prices for each class vary according to level and number of classes taken. Tuition for beginner classes is $55 per month for one class per week. Discounts are available to families with more than one child enrolled or one child enrolled in multiple classes. Tuition may be paid in monthly installments or per semester.
